Our research interest is biomolecular engineering for applications in health, agriculture, and energy.

Our research themes include discovery of biological molecules involved in microbe-, environment-, host-microbe interactions, elucidating the biosynthesis of bioactive products, and leveraging the knowledge to design bio-based systems for drug development and environmental applications.

To advance our research, we use principles in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, protein engineering, metabolic engineering, as well as emerging tools in chemical biology and synthetic biology. More

We are currently accepting graduate students, undergraduate students, postdocs, and technicians applications. If you are interested, please send your CV to xjzhu@tamu.edu. More
